Medicare

What We do for our Medicare customers!

We contract with multiple top carriers in the state.  The reason we do this is to give you more plan options and more importantly to get you the best price.  The carriers listed below are just a few carriers we are contracted with. However,  just being contracted isn't enough in our minds.  We are knowledgeable about every carrier we sell, in regards to customer service, financial ratings, strength of the company and most importantly, how they are historically with their rate increases. This is very important because all Medicare Supplements are alike regardless of the company, however the price increases can be much higher from one company to the next.

Although we can not ever dictate a carriers rate increase we do keep track on the percentage of rate increase each year.  This does not mean we won't offer the carrier, however we will let you know prior to purchasing how the performance of the plan is.  In other words, the least expensive isn't always the best way to go.  Some carriers will start at a lower price and have higher rate increase in the following years, while others may have a higher price but lower price increases. The goal is to keep the plan affordable throughout your life without having the struggles to pay the bill and keep your insurance.

Annual Review of Rx Coverage

WeCare Kentucky give you a free annual review to make sure each year you are saving as much $$$ as you can with your Rx coverage.

Common Mistakes to learn from

1) Just because your brother, sister, neighbor, or friend has a plan they love this may not be there right plan for you.  Everyone is unique when it comes to coverage, because no two peoples health or Medicine is the same

2)  You should review your coverage once a year.  We dont charge anything for a review. Rx companies will change coverage every year in hopes you don't change your plan.  This may result in more money out of pocket for you.  Even if they lower the price of their plan, please get the review.

3) Don't just call a carrier.  If you call Humana they will sell you a Humana Plan, Same as if you call Anthem. We are a brokerage, meaning we are contracted with many companies.  IF we find a plan that is lower out of pocket for you, we will give you the plan name, phone number and Rx plan number.

4) Keep in mind that isn't about the price of the plan when it comes to Rx coverage.  It's about the coverage of the medicine.  It's about your annual out of pocket.

How Medigap plans set their premiums

There are three ways an insurance company can set Medigap premium rates: AKA, Medicare Supplements

  •  Community Rated--(or "no-age-rated") premiums are the same for everyone, regardless of age.

  •  Issued age Rated--(or "entry-age-rated") premiums are based on your age when you first buy the policy. The sooner you enroll, the less you will pay.

  •  Attained Age Rated-- premiums are based on your current age, meaning it goes up as you grow older.

Other factors impacting the premium rates can include inflation, geography, medical underwriting (if you did not enroll when first eligible), and other discounts. You should check with each specific health insurer to see how it sets Medigap prices before you buy.
